Faerie Women of the Tree City and then Fiverr is the worst

Today is the last day of the free promotion but if you have Kindle Unlimited it will continue to be available there.

The Novelette is officially out. I released it a couple of days ago and announced it on Twitter and Facebook but I wasn't able to put up a post about it.

I used a cover that I made on Amazon initially and then uploaded this one the next day. I'm still waiting on the Fiverr order to get closed out but apparently I was able to snag this from the Fiverr app.

I had sent back a request for the seller to have her wings be dragonfly wings and they said that they would look into it. Since it was only a five dollar order I would have been fine if they said that they couldn't do it. 4 days later I decided that I was over it and uploaded it as the new cover. Hopefully the seller will send it back soon so it can be official.

As for this story, I think that it came out pretty well even though it is quite the departure from my gay tentacle singles that I've been putting out. I'm happy to say that I've managed to get three full read-throughs since it went live! It's about a guy making his way through a small part of two fantastic worlds while sewing his wild oats with the women there.

On a side note I also had a new cover made for Played by the Pumpkin Spice Man. I bit the bullet and paid ten bucks for this one so that I could fell like I was able to expect a slightly more professional experience. It was a little later than the seller initially stated in the ad but I had it before the end of the day!

Check it out below.

Anyone have any thoughts on the covers? Let me know in an email or in the comments below.

Fiverr is the worst! follow-up and impending ACX

So, I ended up having to ask for a refund on that cover on Fiverr. The thing that seemed really stupid to me is that Fiverr apparently charges a dollar to upload funds to their site. I told them that it was dumb and they refunded me my dollar along with referencing their Terms of Service (Which means almost nothing FYI).

The first time that I used their site to get a cover made for Nanowrimo 2014 there was no charge like that. About a year later, I paid someone for editing services and there was a fifty cent charge and now it's apparently up to a dollar.

Whatever.

I ended up giving them that dollar back though. I really wanted a cover for the novelette that I'm trying to release. So I bought another gig, received that product, and asked for a single revision. I feel bad asking for revisions at all given my previous experience and the fact that I'm only paying these people five dollars.

I think that I'm going to purchase a ten dollar gig next time. I found someone who provides the source file with the ten dollar gig. I'm not totally sure what that means but it seems like a good thing.

I will update here when I get an official cover.

I haven't posted in over a week because my life has been thrown for a bit of a loop, in a good way, but I'm just trying to adjust.

Meanwhile, I approved the audio book version of  Played by the Pumpkin Spice Man. I'll post when it's available and describe how that process worked. I'll also let you know if I make any money on that front.

Okay. Thanks for reading. Hamburg, Speicherstadt, Wasserschloss -- 2016 -- 3265-71

GoodReads and Fiverr

This is the follow up from my previous post which can be found here:

GoodReads is ruining my life

In the end GoodReads got back to me within about 12 hours of the previous blogpost and it was apparently a pretty easy fix from their end. I don't think anybody saw that I had started writing bizarre gay erotica and honestly if they did I'd get over it.

They also attached the author account to my actual pen name account within another 12 hours. So basically, they do seem to work on getting back to people but they don't seem to have the resources allocated to do it immediately.

Now if I could only figure out how to get a decent cover made.

I actually drafted a short blog post about some problems that I've been having with Fiverr but never hit the publish button.

Basically, I received the covers that I had ordered but they included an image that I had uploaded as inspiration (as they directed me too) as the background for the cover. This was a pretty big problem because I don't own the rights for that image and the main reason that I'm using Fiverr is because image rights for half naked people are super expensive.

I requested a revision and the seller said that they would look into it. I sent three, two or three word reminders over the next five days (I didn't want to be too hard since I only paid five bucks) but didn't receive any word in return.

This was beginning to be a problem: I have an 18,000 word novella that I busted my but to edit so that I could get it released and I'm waiting for this cover. It was the first cover that I was going to spend money on. I figure since it is a more lengthy story than my other shorts I could invest a little but since I'm just starting out, I only have very little to invest.

I put in a (whatever) to Fiverr and the seller got back to me within six hours. They apologized and said that they must have missed it somehow. In all fairness they are a popular seller with a lot of open orders. Again, as long as I get an okay cover, I'm not going to cause a fuss. I probably won't be using that seller again but I think that they'll do okay without me.

I guess this place is in Berlin but don't read anything political into that. It was just the image on the front page of wikimedia commons today and I thought it looked nice. But man...that election, huh?

Poled by the Voting Booth Released to day at 99 cents.

The second chapter in the Amazing Seasonal Encounters Series is up. This one is also about 5,000 words and is about a 30 year old African American widower who has been out of the game since his wife passed away.

One night a ghost of a former friend propositions him on Election Night when he's volunteering at a voting center. The whole thing culminates into something wild that you'll just have to read to find out.

The story is available on Amazon in Kindle Unlimited or 99 cents.

I really need to work on my covers. I don't know how to just get a couple of source files with half naked men that I could use again and again.

GoodReads is ruining my life because I'm an idiot

It took me a while to find an appropriate photo for this entry
So, I'm an idiot.

I was so excited last week despite the fact that nobody was reading my book since it wasn't free anymore.

I was further delighted last night when someone came along and bought my little 99 cent experiment. Some person out there actually thought enough of my concept to come along and purchase my little book...and hopefully read it.

Imagine my dismay when I woke up this morning to discover that the GoodReads account that I attempted to create for my author profile had taken over my actual profile.

Now, to be clear, I'm not terrified that someone will find out that I'm writing gay tentacle erotica and the other kinds of erotica that I have coming out soon but I did not intend to advertise that fact to the friends that I have slowly picked up over the last thirty years of my life.
I don't think that anyone can see who I am for now but I'm not sure. I'm considering deleting my personal account on goodreads which would be unfortunate since I've been using that platform for years; I think five years.

I've left questions on two forums and send the admin three emails asking for some help in resolving this issue but I have little hope that anyone will respond soon since it took almost two weeks for my author page application to be accepted. In the time since I submitted that application I've created a separate account for this  pen name and submitted another application to have it linked with the author page.

Unfortunately I seem to be the only one that this has happened to which makes me feel like a complete moron. If I hadn't been so quick, in my excitement,  to create a online footprint for this pseudonym this all could have been prevented.

Anyways, I'm just venting because I'm so distressed about this that I'm having trouble focusing.

Perhaps my little rant will prevent this from happening from anyone else. It probably shouldn't be a concern for most people, though. Since this only happened because, again, I'm an idiot.

Here's a little blues song, "Crazy Blues," that I happened across in the public domain at Wikimedia Commons:

New Releases Coming Soon

I have two new and exciting pieces coming out soon.

One is a novella about a man who is taken into another world in which sex is more freely used. He has to help one of the women to stop a group of evil fairies from invading our world. This is in final edits and I'm waiting for the covers to come back.

The other is a continuation of the Amazing Seasonal Encounters series: It's not finished yet but it's a short story about a man who has an encounter with someone who must have sex with him so that she can cross over. Unfortunately she can only do it on November 8th while he is volunteering at his local polling center.

Home that you guys will check them out when they're released.

Played by the Pumpkin Spice Man only 99 cents

The first release from the new author L.R.R. LeMarc.
